Raymond F. Wager, CPA, P.C., was formed in March of 1988. Previously, Raymond was a partner for sixteen years with an accounting firm which specialized in municipal accounting and not-for-profit accounting. Recent accounting pronouncements require accounting firms which audit government agencies to conform to the 1994 revision of “Government Auditing Standards”. These standards require participation in an external quality control review program at least once every three years. Also, the senior staff members of the firm are required to attend forty hours of continuing professional education per year.

The firm is pleased to announce that we participated in an on-site quality review during 2000. This review was conducted by the American Institute of CPA’s and included reviewing quality control for the accounting and auditing practice. Selected accounting and auditing engagements were tested. Raymond and Tom Lauffer, his partner, currently serve on the New York State Public School Accounting committee and they are also active members of the NYS Association of School Business Officials and the Government Finance Officers Association. In conjunction with these organizations, they are both frequent presenters at conferences and seminars regarding financial matters.
